Lodomania — WordPress Website for a Nationwide Ice Cream Shop Chain

Situation, goals and challenges
Lodomania is a nationwide Polish ice cream shop chain that needed a new website to showcase its offering, flavors, seasonal menus, and store locations. Its previous site was outdated, not responsive, and slow — particularly on mobile.
Project goals: - build a lightweight, fast, modern WordPress website - create a visually appealing design that captures the feel of an ice cream shop - implement modules for managing flavors, promotions, and menus - build a store locator with a map of points of sale - improve local SEO visibility (e.g., "ice cream + city" searches) - optimize images and video so the site loads instantly even on mobile networks
Key challenges: - combining WordPress with a large volume of product photography without slowing the site down - building modules that work for a franchise model (locations plus distributed content management) - keeping the design visually rich while staying technically lightweight - implementing galleries, carousels, and hero sections without sacrificing performance - providing a genuinely simple content-editing panel
Scope and delivered functionality
UX/UI and front end - a premium visual design with appetizing flavor imagery - a hero landing section with motion-based animation - a gallery module for products, flavors, and flavor combinations - a store locator section with a map and location details - mobile-first responsive design - lightweight CSS/GSAP animations reinforcing the premium feel
WordPress and custom development - built on a dedicated custom WordPress theme - a custom "Flavors / Seasonal Menu" module - a "Store Locations" module with a map, hours, addresses, and contact details - a mobile-optimized slider module - a flavor tile system built on high-quality imagery
SEO and performance - image compression that preserves visual quality — important, since in food, the image sells the product - lazy loading across all galleries - WebP and AVIF support where available - CSS, JS, and HTML minification - schema markup for LocalBusiness, FAQ, Breadcrumbs, and Organization - meta tag and heading optimization for local SEO
Results
- page speed improved by roughly 50% compared to the previous version
- an increase in local visits driven by the map feature and local SEO
- a well-organized system for presenting flavors and seasonal menus
- higher gallery engagement — important in the food business
- longer average session times, driven by the new animations and UX
- easier content management for owners and franchisees
- a site fully ready to support advertising campaigns and social content
